Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Medicare & Individual Health Insurance Producer to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to individuals, families, and Medicare beneficiaries, helping them navigate complex health insurance options and select coverage that best fits their needs and budget. The ideal candidate is consultative, sales-oriented, and passionate about building long-term client relationships while delivering customized Medicare and individual health insurance solutions. This position plays a key role in driving new business growth, supporting client retention, and expanding the agency's presence within the individual health insurance marketplace.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time hybrid position reporting to our office in Buffalo, NY.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with individuals, families, Medicare beneficiaries, referral partners, and community organizations seeking health insurance guidance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing consultative recommendations related to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug Plans, Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans, Child Health Plus, Essential Plans, and other individual health insurance solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and educate clients on available coverage options, eligibility requirements, enrollment periods, and plan benefits.
  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, community outreach, educational events, and prospecting activities.
  • Build, manage, and grow a profitable book of Medicare and individual health insurance business while maintaining a strong focus on client retention and satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with enrollment applications, plan changes, renewals, and ongoing service needs throughout the year.
  • Conduct client meetings, educational presentations, and enrollment consultations to help individuals make informed healthcare coverage decisions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and stay informed on product offerings, underwriting requirements, and market changes.
  • Collaborate with internal service and support teams to deliver a seamless client experience and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with other agency teams to provide additional insurance and financial protection solutions when appropriate.
  • Stay current on Medicare regulations, ACA requirements, carrier updates, enrollment guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and client records within agency management systems and sales tools.
  • Represent the agency professionally within the community and cultivate relationships with healthcare providers, referral partners, and local organizations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Medicare, individual health insurance, insurance sales, business development, or a related field preferred; strong candidates with transferable sales experience will be considered.
  • Active Life & Health insurance license required.
  • Experience working with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, ACA Marketplace plans, Child Health Plus, Essential Plans, or other individual health insurance products preferred.
  • Experience with agency management systems or CRM platforms preferred.
  • Strong business development, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, carrier partners, referral sources, and internal team members.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Knowledge of Medicare enrollment periods, ACA eligibility requirements, and individual health insurance regulations preferred.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $62,500 per year plus commission depending on experience.

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
