Position Overview: As a Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our commercial insurance clients. You will be responsible for managing client accounts, addressing inquiries, processing policy changes, and assisting with claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality customer support.

This position requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and client needs. You will work closely with account managers, underwriters, and other team members to ensure client satisfaction and retention. By maintaining a thorough understanding of commercial insurance products and services, you will help clients navigate complex insurance policies and provide timely solutions to their concerns.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time position working in our office located in Palm Bay, FL.

Professional Responsibilities:

Renewal Process

  • Maintains control of expirations for assigned accounts and markets policies for renewal.
  • Works with, and follows up with, various brokers and insurance companies to ensure renewal quotes are received 30 days prior to the renewal.
  • Sends renewal information to the insured and secures deposits and applications.
  • Works with Account Manager and/or Producer to help ensure all renewals are presented within 30 days of the renewal.

Servicing

  • Responds to all routine client inquiries throughout the year.
  • Completes endorsements and requests within the assigned work-flow schedule.
  • Nurtures relationships with clients throughout the year with superior service and responsiveness.
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to educate the client about their risk exposures and the benefits of increased limits and/or coverages and/or rounding out the account.

Policy Issuance & Evidences

  • Checks policies for accuracy of all coverages, forms, and premiums.
  • Delivers policies to the insured within 45 days of the renewal.
  • Provides certificates of insurance within 24 hours of request.

Claims Handling

  • Reports loss information to the insurance company the same day it is received.
  • Coordinates, as necessary, any activities between clients and claims adjusters.
  • Responds to clients’ inquiries and questions regarding claim the same day it is received.
  • Follows up on outstanding claims and provides assistance in their resolution, as necessary

Other

  • Assists with front desk & phone back up.
  • Documents all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages to minimize potential for errors & omissions claims.
  • Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency and company personnel.
  • Follows all systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations.
  • Assists in resolving any problems in accounting with accounts produced.
  • Maintains working knowledge of niche market insurance carrier appetite
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Florida 4-40 Insurance License
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
  • A passion for being part of a team that drives our company to industry leadership
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
