Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced and licensed insurance sales professional who excels in providing superb customer service to ensure customers have the appropriate insurance coverage for their personal and business needs, to join us as a Commercial Lines Insurance Account Executive. In this position you will work to provide comprehensive advice and consultation to the insurance clients in the Minot, North Dakota marketspace. In this role you will collaborate with other team members to deliver exceptional client service, including preparation of policy renewals and changes, and handling insurance claims efficiently. This position will emphasize serving as a consultant and advisor to the clients to ensure continued business retention.

Work location: There are two available positions. The first is a full time, fully remote position, with a preference for candidates residing and able to work in the U.S. Central time zone. The second is an in-office position, working in our Minot, North Dakota office.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive consultation and support to clients across the insurance and risk management spectrum, including all lines of property and casualty insurance
  • Maintain ongoing touchpoints with clients to ensure their insurance and risk needs are being met.
  • Assume a leadership role for clients in book of business by providing strategic account management and consultation and recommending tailored insurance solutions
  • Respond timely to client requests for service and risk related items including policy review, contract review, claims, and other related matters
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive client information and records, and agency records and database
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and client information
  • Work closely with Producers and Account Managers to help solve problems, ensure client needs are met and insurance placement secure
  • Schedule and coordinate routine touch-base conversations, pre-renewal, and renewal meetings for assigned clients.
  • Assist with insurance underwriting and carrier/underwriter negotiations when it comes to insurance quotes and placement for clients
  • Prepare renewal proposals to clients, including discussion items and recommendations
  • Issue certificates, binders, and additional evidence of property documents
  • Conduct data analysis and work comp analyses proactively and upon request
  • Pursuing professional growth in the industry and stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices through training, certification courses, and industry conferences or webinars
  • Attend client and carrier loss control visits, claims review, and facilitate effective communication between all parties

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in a business-related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on account management, risk management, and/or production/sales
  • An active P&C Insurance license
  • Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) certificate is also preferred
  • Prior insurance sales and leadership experience working with top-tier clientele and large clients
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding clients’ unique needs, and providing customized insurance solutions
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Strong organizational skills and project management abilities
  • Ability to analyze complex scenarios and develop solutions for clients
  • Ability to travel to client locations as needed (minimal)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in future

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000 base salary to start, depending on the candidate’s experience.

A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
