Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced, hands-on technology operations professional with strong knowledge of threat intelligence, to join us as an IT Security Operations Analyst. In this position you will play a crucial role in protecting the organization's computer systems, networks, and data from security threats. This includes monitoring and responding to security incidents, identifying vulnerabilities, assisting with solutions, and ensuring compliance with our security policies and regulations.

Work location: The position is a full time, fully remote position that supports our company headquarters and our partner agency locations.

Professional Responsibilities:

• Monitoring Security Systems: Continuously monitoring networks and systems for potential threats using security tools like Microsoft Defender and Email Gateway systems for any signs of security breaches or unusual activities
• Incident Detection & Response: Identify and Responding to security incidents, analyzing them, and mitigating risks or breaches by implementing security measures
• Threat Detection and Analysis: Identifying and analyzing security threats, such as malware or cyber-attacks, and recommending preventive measures
• Vulnerability Management: Conducting vulnerability assessments and working with other IT teams to patch or resolve security weaknesses
• Security Analysis and Reporting: Analyze logs and data from various security tools and systems to identify patterns of suspicious behavior, and then document incidents and actions taken to support future analysis or compliance audits
• Security Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry standards are met and assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and best practices within the organization
• Security Awareness and Training: Help improve the overall security culture within the organization by educating and training other employees on security best practices, phishing prevention, and other security threats
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other IT departments and business units to maintain the overall security posture of the organization and communicate identified threats and incidents clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Continuous learning, professional growth, and staying updated on emerging threats

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience with IT security operations, incident responses, and cybersecurity activity, and a strong understanding of digital forensics and how to track and investigate security events
• Experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, and/or threat detection
• Experience with digital forensics to investigate breaches and suspicious activities
• Certified in CompTIA Security+,SC-200 for Microsoft Defender, or CySA+, especially when responding to security incidents and managing multiple threats
• Proficiency in Threat Analysis with the ability to analyze and correlate log data and security alerts to identify and remediate potential threats
• Proficiency in use of Security Information tools
• Familiarity with concepts like VPNs, proxies, and network segmentation
• Strong understanding of incident response procedures, including identifying, containing, and remediating security incidents
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external parties
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in future

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 starting base salary, depending on experience.
