Commercial Lines Account Manager Assistant (Hybrid)

Position Overview: The Commercial Lines Account Manager Assistant supports PDCM’s commercial clients and account managers by providing exceptional service, managing their accounts, handling data entry, department projects, assisting account managers in daily tasks. The position is responsible for supporting the processing of policy changes, quotes, renewals, audits, and compliance with policies and regulations. The Commercial Lines Account Manager Assistant acts as the secondary contact for their account managers assigned clients, supporting the renewal process in collaboration with the Producer, and account manager and assisting and responding to all clients in a timely manner.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting our office in Waterloo, IA.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with account managers to understand clients’ needs and inquiries. Gather and update client information as needed to maintain comprehensive and up-to-date client accounts.
  • Support policy changes, updates, and revisions in accordance with the account manager’s direction, client needs and carrier requirements. Confirm the accuracy of policy changes, renewals, quotes, endorsements, and audits to minimize errors and omissions. Forward policy information to insurance carriers and ensure proper application of policy changes.
  • Document all client policies, interactions, and activities in a systematic manner. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive client information and records.
  • Send verification of insurance to third parties as requested by clients or regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare insurance applications, and actively market and obtain insurance quotes from multiple carriers to offer clients competitive options. Provide clients with accurate and timely quotes for insurance coverage.
  • Prepare renewal information and work with PDCM’s Producers to assist clients in making informed decisions regarding their policies. Schedule client meetings and ensure Producers have all the necessary information for client meetings and presentations; attend meetings upon request.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer support or account management position (Required)
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Obtainment and maintenance of Iowa Property and Casualty Insurance License (Required)
  • Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry, specifically in Commercial Lines (Preferred)
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field (Preferred)
  • Prior experience working with a CRM system (Preferred)
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, coverages, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide empathetic and supportive assistance to clients and employees by being responsive to client needs and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the client experience.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding clients’ unique needs, and providing customized insurance solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, combined with a persistent approach to achieving successful resolutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly and transparently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with in a team environment, sharing insights and contributing to collective success.
  • Proficiency in using software systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices through attending training programs, earning relevant certifications, and participating in industry conferences or webinars.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and client information.
