Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and client-focused ACA and Medicare Agent to join our team. This role is responsible for helping individuals and families navigate their health insurance options through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including Child Health Plus and Essential Plans, as well as Medicare programs. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, service-oriented, and passionate about helping clients make informed healthcare coverage decisions. This position offers the opportunity to support an established book of business while developing new client relationships through referrals, community engagement, and agency-generated leads.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time hybrid position reporting to our office in Buffalo, NY.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and families by providing guidance on ACA, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, and Medicare coverage options.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to clients within an assigned book of business during annual enrollment periods and throughout the year to address questions, policy changes, and coverage needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering responsive, high-quality service and ongoing support.
  • Develop relationships with centers of influence (COIs), referral partners, community organizations, and other networking sources to generate new business opportunities.
  • Work agency-provided leads and conduct prospect outreach to grow a personal book of business.
  • Educate clients on available plan options, eligibility requirements, coverage details, and enrollment processes.
  • Assist clients with applications, enrollments, renewals, and policy changes while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay current on ACA, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, Medicare, and related regulatory requirements, carrier products, and industry developments.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation within agency systems.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to support client retention, operational efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to expand product knowledge and sales effectiveness.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Active New York Life & Health Insurance License required.
  • Experience with ACA, Child Health Plus, Essential Plans, Medicare, or other health insurance products preferred.
  • Prior insurance sales, enrollment, customer service, or account management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish trust with clients and referral partners.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of client service.
  • Professional demeanor and client-first mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and agency technology platforms.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and develop expertise in health insurance products and regulations.

Pay Range: $28 - $30 per hour depending on experience.

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
