Overview: The Account Manager is responsible for providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to clients, producers, and fellow team members. The Account Manager is the day to day, first line customer contact who services benefit inquiries and resolves day-to-day client requests. The Account Manager quickly identifies the necessary action and problem solves how best to meet the client needs. Working with groups under 100 at Arrow Benefits Group, this position is responsible for working with the assigned producer, facilitating the overall strategic management, service and retention of assigned clients. The Account Manager will work with an Associate Account Manager to manage workflow. The Account Manager is a team player who looks to raise the level of the entire client services department.

This is a fully remote position; candidates may be expected to travel and be present for staff and client meetings, as requested.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and retain a block of business.
  • Analyze employee benefit products and recommend solutions to clients.
  • Prepare a renewal presentation (in a medium/format that is appropriate for the client).
  • Research and keep up to date with carrier product portfolios.
  • Team Attitude, looking for growth not only for yourself but the team.
  • Provide/present educational meetings for employees, when appropriate, including at Open Enrollment.
  • Educate clients on the administration of benefit plans, alternative funding scenarios (HRA, HSA) and compliance issues.
  • Consult with clients and employees of clients with day-to-day questions that arise regarding their employee benefits program.
  • Promptly respond to all client/employee inquiries, including any Open Enrollment, benefits, benefits compliance, and legislative questions.
  • Manage and resolve claim/billing issues, working with the employee and the insurance carrier.
  • Act as the client liaison with Third Party Administrators including Flexible Spending Accounts, Self-Funded Dental and COBRA.
  • Provide expertise in all areas of the enrollment process, including eligibility, qualifying events, terminations, and plan design clarification.
  • Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing accounts.
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skills and knowledge development, including continuing education requirements.
  • Prioritize workload and/or request assistance as required.
  • Meet with clients as necessary to discuss and handle their insurance needs.
  • Keep producers fully informed of activities on their accounts.
  • Grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active Health and Life license with the California Department of Insurance
  • Three years of industry experience in employee benefits
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree, college degree preferred

^Salary Range: $70,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

^A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
